The entire width of a bed of lettuce or other greens crop can be harvested in one operation with Johnny's Greens Harvester. Consisting of a band saw-type knife blade and cloth basket, the device is moved along the row at ground level using a side-to-side motion, the knife blade cutting off the plants, which then fall into the basket. The harvester comes in three sizes: a 30-inch model that's for 20-inch-wide beds and holds up to 3 pounds before it needs to be emptied; the 42-inch model for 30-inch-wide beds and having a 4-pound capacity; and the 48-inch model for 36-inch-wide beds and 5-pound capacity.
