Homemade Truck Caddy
Jim Terveen's lightweight, portable Homemade Truck Caddy allows the Sioux Falls, SD, mechanic to access any area of a big vehicle's engine and work with both hands in a comfortable position without back strain or fatigue. The Caddy is a 6-foot ladder that he made of 1-inch-diameter tubing with an angled support arm at the top where the worker lies. It is padded where it rests against the vehicle, its base is held secure by a pair of safety chains that fasten to the vehicle's tow hook or bumper, and it can be lowered 15 inches by removing the bottom rung.
