Homemade Skid Steer Barrel Grabber
Homemade Skid Steer Barrel Grabber

Utilizing gravity rather than hydraulics or springs, Bob Bork's Homemade Skid Steer Barrel Grabber will reportedly lift/transport/stack not only metal or plastic barrels, but also a variety of other large round containers (e.g., bins, trash cans, plant pots). Available as either an attachment to the loader's arms or one that slides over its forks, the Burlington (WI) farmer's device features two sets of hinged 'wings' that, when lowered over the barrel, lock onto it as the arms are raised. One set of accommodates 30-gallon drums, the other 55-gallon drums. To release, the Grabber is tilted downward as the loader backs up, which allows the hinges to automatically open up. A winch and tie-down strap bolted into one corner of the frame allows the container to be turned to horizontal position so its contents can be poured.
