3D Bin-Level Scanner
3D Bin-Level Scanner

The 3D Bin-Level Scanner is designed to eliminate the need to climb bins to check inventory levels. Unlike conventional technologies that measure one point and determine one distance, this scanner takes measurements from various points within the bin. These points are not averaged to calculate bin volume, but rather each is given a 'weight' (i.e., strength-of-accuracy rating) assigned by an algorithm to determine the true volume of material within the bin. The device's mapping capability provides a visual representation of the bin's contents, detecting irregular material surfaces, cone up or down conditions, as well as sidewall buildup-all of which are communicated to the user's computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. The scanner is self-cleaning, reportedly requires minimal maintenance, and features a variety of extensions and configurations to allow it to be used in a wide range of storage venues and materials.
