BoxMate for Breaking Down Bulk Seed Boxes
At the end of planting season, the reusable and expensive bulk-seed boxes are to be returned to the dealer, who wants them broken down and restacked, ready for warehouse storage-a chore that's not only time consuming but typically requires two people. With the BoxMate Bulk-Seed-Box Stacker, a forklift, and a small air compressor, one person can reportedly unstack, break down, and restack a box in about 2-minutes' time. It works as follows: (1) Drive forklift with box into device where angle-cut arms with backstops guide box into place. (2) Dismount forklift and, on device control panel, turn latch and activate pneumatic valve to raise the box. (3) Once raised, rotate box 180º. (4) With control valve, dump the air, which lowers box into nesting position and releases itself from latch on way down. (5) Set lid back on box. BoxMate is designed to prevent injury from strenuous lifting as well as save time and the need for a second person.
