Homemade Rolling Walker to Workbench Conversion
Standard metal walker frame with 2 small wheels on front legs and feet on back legs with aluminum table top mounted on top of the walker & wood pieces fastened on the top edges to keep tools from falling off

With a piece of scrap aluminum, a piano hinge, and some 1 x 6s, John Stuber of DeSoto, MO, turned his wheeled walker into a lightweight rolling workbench that folds up and accommodates hand tools. From the scrap aluminum he made the 16- x 24-inch tabletop and affixed wood pieces onto the sides to contain the hand tools. Two short boards connect the long piano hinge to the walker's tubular frame, which allows it to fold. Raising up the top, then depressing the buttons at the walker's front corners, releases to legs so that they can be folded in.
