DIY Mobile-Base Hardware Kit
An assembled DIY Mobile-Base Hardware Kit that looks like a low-slung creeper with adjustable-height legs next to the front wheels.

Mobile bases allow one to move otherwise stationary equipment (e.g., band saw, drill press, jointer, lathe, planer, sander, table saw) around the farm shop more easily. With the DIY Mobile-Base Hardware Kit plus a piece of cut-to-size plywood, it can be done less expensively. The kit includes four heavy-gauge steel corners (adjustable from 3/4- to 11/2-inch thick plywood), two raise/lower and lock-in-place foot levers, two fixed and two swivel wheels, all needed fastening bolts/screws, plus assembly and care manual. Depending on brand, kit-built base mobile bases can reportedly accommodate equipment weighing 400 to 600 pounds and with base dimensions of up to 36 by 36 inches.

Estimated Cost Cost range: $40-$100

Limitations Limitations Addressed by Product: Upper extremity, Lower extremity, Strength/endurance, Back
