Grain Vehicle Positioning Light
The Grain Vehicle Positioning Light is used to indicate when the truck or wagon is properly aligned with the auger hopper. The device involves an electric eye, a piece of reflective tape, and a signal light. The electric eye is placed near the hopper facing the wagon (see [[figure]]). The reflective tape, which can be sensed by the electric eye, is affixed by the vehicle's gate. When the eye detects the tape, a switch is flipped, turning on the signal light. When the driver pulls up to the auger hopper and sees the light come on, he knows that the truck or wagon is positioned correctly for unloading. (Note: One alternative to the positioning light would be to hang a tennis ball or other object directly over or in alignment with the auger or pit inlet.)
